First, a quick note: officially confirmed that this was a genuine oversight leading to the code leak. From @Boris Cherny’s statements, it was not attributed to any individual’s mistake. Instead, the team took the initiative to reflect that there is room for improvement in the entire engineering process. Compared to the common practice of immediately scapegoating temporary workers (contractors) whenever an issue arises, this “share the glory together, face the difficulties together” team spirit and management approach is truly admirable and worth emulating.

Second, regarding the Claude Code CLI source code leaked on March 31, 2026, although it provides a full view of the project, it cannot be run directly. Therefore, many “Vibe Coders” used AI technology to repair all missing files, broken references, and runtime errors, making it possible to compile and run successfully.
