Magika is a new AI-powered file type detection tool that leverages the latest advances in deep learning to achieve high-precision detection.

At its core is a highly optimized custom model that is only a few MB in size and can perform accurate file identification in milliseconds, even on a single-core CPU. Magika was trained and evaluated on a dataset of approximately 100 million samples (covering 200+ content types, including both binary and text file formats). It achieves an average accuracy of ~99% on the test set.
