Python Software Foundation Board Unanimously Votes to Withdraw Government Funding Application, Putting a Price on Principles.
“We cannot and will not agree to a statement requiring us to cease operations of any programs that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. This would betray our mission and contradict our community’s values,” wrote Lorena Claridad, Deputy Executive Director of the Python Software Foundation (PSF), in a statement on the foundation’s official website.
On October 28, the Python Software Foundation announced the voluntary withdrawal of an approved $1.5 million government funding application.
