This Project Ends Stage Fright Forever
Free open-source Mac teleprompter with Word Tracking, Classic & Voice-Activated modes. Dynamic Island overlay, Sidecar support, offline speech recognition.
Textream is a free, open-source macOS application that guides you through your script in three modes: Word Tracking (highlights each word as you speak it), Classic Mode (constant-speed automatic scrolling), and Voice-Activated Mode (scrolls while you speak, pauses during silence). It displays in a sleek Dynamic Island-style overlay at the top of the screen, or as a draggable floating window, or fullscreen on a Sidecar iPad — visible only to you, invisible to the audience.
Paste your script, click play, and start speaking. When finished, the overlay automatically closes.
First Launch
Since Textream is distributed outside the Mac App Store, macOS may block it on first open. Run the following command once in Terminal:
xattr -cr /Applications/Textream.appThen right-click the app → Open. After the first launch, macOS will remember your choice.
